Prowling Sacspiders

Prowling Sacspiders (fam Miturgidae) are not the same as Sacspiders (Fam Clubionidae).
Prowling Sacspiders have the first leg longest, whereas Sacspiders have the first and forth legs equally long.

The black face though is a defining feature for the species Cheiracanthium furculatum.

Prowling...

...it was. At speed.

Venomous

I see Goggos says that the Prowling Sacspider is "poisonous". Having been lambasted by my son since he was 11 for using poisonous (capable of killing by ingestion) instead of venomous (capable of killing by injection), I find it particularly amusing that this mistake entered so recent a book.
Simply, you can eat the Prowling Sacspider without any ill effects (if you kill it first) - it is thus not poisonous.

Although venonomous and causing severe local necrosis that can become infected, and may take months to heal, the bites are unlikely to be life-threatening and do not constitute a medical emergency.
