Description: Sorry best I could do: the spider was inaccessible without destroying her web: only guessed her location by two strands of tension web off at about 5* to the web from just off the hub, but could not see her amid the vine branches.

Description: Large - roughly 25mm from spinneret to pedipalps - orb spider - no detail regarding dorsal colouration or markings. Spider moved fast after single photo of ventral. No further sightings. Have always thought it was an orb spider - but having browsed here for a while think it may be a bark spider such as C. corticosa?

Description: Horny protuberance on the abdomen resembling the bark of trees and lichen. Legs covered with hair. They construct a large orb web at dusk which is dismantled at dawn. These photos were taken at 9.00am. The spider was in the centre of the web when I first saw it, but quickly retreated to hide next to the leaves caught on the bridge line.
