Description: This kid was dragged (see photos) for miles before the predator found a secluded spot it liked. From the drag marks, it must have scaled a cliff face, which is awesome!
I think it is a caracal kill because the guts have not been removed (as a leopard does) and the eaten bits are between the hind legs, and it has not been 'mauled' and torn to bits (jackal/dog). It is a fairly new kill (still stank and had maggots (to be loaded)).

Description: This caracal was spotted casually walking along the Braille Trail, while a deluge of around 1,700 paediatric cardiologist conference delegates attending a function at Kirstenbosch thronged their way along the path a couple of meters away. It seemed unfazed that I was following it trying to get a decent photo.

Description: The first 3 pics were taken 28/8/12 of scats consistenting almost entirely of hair. The second 2 pics were taken 10 days later and show that something (mongoose?) had "overmarked" the scats.
Do rooikat bury their poops? These were not buried. These are so large I wondered if they may even be leopard...
