Description: It jumped onto our widscreen while driving down a path in coastal forest. It is very common in the area, we observed many more individuals during walks in the forest.

Description: Fat slow-moving insect with spiked armour

They only occur in caves - in the twilight zone. Located them in another set of faults in the Cederberg, as they were originally known only from the Wolkberg caves. Both males and females are wingless. I suspect they feed on lichen and guano.
