Description: A better picture of probably the same snake I took a couple of days ago (see Ispot posting) - just below where I saw him/her previously. Obviously very much at home in my wall, with its many nooks and cranies.
My wall seems popular with snakes - found three shedded skins earlier this year on/in it (not necessarily of this species). One is shown in third photo.

Description: Found this small snake curled up in a niche in my garden wall after dusk (hence poor quality of photos). Could someone comment on its likely ID? Sorry, Tony - I know I should have hauled it out to measure everything in immense detail - but what if it was an Atractaspis?!!

Description: We found this this afternoon while turning over a compost heap. The snake's underside was white and the snake at no time hooded suggesting it was harmless. Very much a golden colour. It was very sluggish due to the weather being cool. I released it after taking a few photographs. My provisional id suggested from 'A Guide to Reptiles of Southern Africa by G Alexander and J Marais.
