Description: Spekboom truncheons planted in an attempt to rehabilitate degraded thicket. The plants have taken well, and adequate protection is achieved through light packing with thorn tree branches. A slow and labour intensive approach (in this case part of a volunteer program), but intresting nonetheless. I want to set up some trials using thorn trees as nurse-crops for other plants and as cover for bare ground (ie use facilitation to induce vegetation change). Also slow, but more practicable at a large scale.

Description: Not sure which habitat to use for this one. Also not sure of the location, it was fairly close to the road from the west towards Augrabies. If anyone happens to recognise the place then put the coordinates in a comment and i will alter the location. Date is also approximate, it may be a few days after the 24th but still in Aug 2003
